Key Lime Pie

Mix 1/2 c plus 2 T key lime juice, 1 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk, and 4 egg yolks in bowl. Pour into baked graham cracker crust and bake at 350 for 15 min. Let cool until set and then freeze at least 4 hours. Increase temp to 450. Beat 4 egg whites at room temp with a pinch of salt until frothy. Add 1 tsp cream of tartar until opaque and beginning to make small peaks. Add 6 T of sugar, 1 tsp at a time. Increase speed to high and add 6 more T of sugar, 1 tsp at a time. Add 1/2 tsp vanilla and continue to beat until meringue forms glossy, very stiff peaks, about 2 min. Top frozen pie with meringue and sprinkle w 1 tsp sugar. Set on a baking sheet and bake until lightly browned, about 3 min. Remove and let cool before serving.
